Skara Brae isn't one of the more popular towns on AddictMUD but it also has its advantages. Many quests can be found here and it is close to areas such as The Training School, Haunted Mansion, Beseiged Castle, Goblin Caves, Froboz Fun Factory,Castle of the Lizard King, and that fun little Maelstrom zone which offers random doors to areas all over the Mud changing several times an hour. The Maelstrom is a great way to explore, get killed and find rare equipment.
Areas in proximity to New Thalos include Carnival and the Dragon Sea which leads to Bengloarafurd, Redface Castle, Pepperfields and Paradise City. As with all hometowns, it offers aan extensive newbie area in the town Library.
Several quests can only be accessed in Arinorn so it is worth getting familiar with it once you hit level 30 or so.

Adrilankha is the main hometown for most players.
If you desire social interaction and help from other players, this is the town for you. Verra's Temple is main gathering place and point of recall. The main newbie area is loacted immediately east of Verras (Library). The city has all the main shops needed to get basic adventuring supplies. Shardar's is located in Market square and sells those two trusty standbys, recall and identify scrolls. The Post Office is near Verras and offers private communication with Immortals or players. You can also mail items to other players who aren't currently playing. Other shops of interst include a bank for storing gold (so you don't lose it all the first time you get lost and die),a general store, and an antiquities shop (where you can blow those hard earned quest points on hard to find equipment and other goodies).
The town has no aggressive mobs and is easy to nagivate.
Zones of interest within close walking distance of the city include Zerikas Palace, Narnia, and Castle Black.
For a new player I would most definitely urge you to choose Adrilankha as your hometown. Players are friendly and willing to help new people and if you live in Adrilankha the '''least''' you can expect from them is advice, helpful spells and quite possibly equipment to get you on your way.
